Neue Meister – Modern Classical Music VII

Attracting new, urban audiences, the 7th edition of the Berlin concert series "Neue Meister" demonstrates how multifaceted today's classical music can be. A number of promising new artists are featured along with a very special guest: Olga Scheps, a widely acclaimed pianist and winner of the ECHO Klassik award, will present an exclusive selection of music from her new album "100% Scooter – Piano Only".

Multitalented Berlin trumpeter, composer and pianist Sebastian Studnitzky showcases his versatility with his composition "Memento". Shifting between jazz and classical, this work breathes new life into the "Third Stream" musical genre.

Marina Baranova promises another stellar performance. Her new album "Unfolding Debussy" released on Neue Meister in March reveals hidden facets of the best-known Impressionist music composer.

"Orchestronics" specialist Fabian Russ will present a piece composed especially for the occasion, blending classical music and electronics in his own unique way. The world premiere of "Die wäldernen Werkstätten" is a fairytale journey into the understory of consciousness.

Others performing live at the event include US-based Daniel Wohl, who imaginatively explores the world of digital sound generation, and drummer Johannes Fischer, who will present his version of Telemann's Tafelmusik in a genre-busting recomposition.
