ECHO Klassik 2017 for “ÜberBach” by Sebastian Knauer and Arash Safaian
For the first time in Neue Meister history an album receives an ECHO Klassik. "ÜberBach" by Arash Safaian and Sebastian Knauer has been awarded with the trophy in the category "Classical without borders". Filled with compositions by the Munich composer and supported by Pascal Schumacher and Zürcher Kammerorchester, the project is based on the themes by Johann Sebastian Bach. The ceremony will takes place on 29th October 2017 at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
"ÜberBach"
Modern and classic at the same time, "ÜberBach" skilfully strikes a bridge between the classical sounds of Bach with modern accents. "I thought I was listening Bach" confessed pianist Sebastian Knauer, who was immediately able to inspire himself for the project. Composer Arash Safaian developed an idea based on the musical themes of Bach, which is based on the basic idea of hearing Bach without hearing Bach.
